Course Description:
This course enables students to examine world religions and belief traditions and their influence on individuals, societies, and cultures. Students will explore the origins, teachings, practices, and historical development of major world religions and belief systems. Using inquiry and research skills, students will analyse religious perspectives on contemporary issues, ethical challenges, and global citizenship. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, respectful dialogue, and understanding religious diversity in Canadian and global contexts. This course prepares students for further studies in social sciences, humanities, and postsecondary pathways related to global studies, ethics, law, education, and social services.
