Course Assessment:
Assessment and evaluation in education aim to improve student learning. Teachers gather information through assessments to identify students’ strengths and weaknesses in meeting curriculum expectations. This helps in adapting instruction and evaluating program effectiveness. Teachers provide descriptive feedback to guide improvement. Evaluation involves judging the quality of student work based on criteria. All curriculum expectations are covered, but evaluation focuses on overall achievement. Valid and reliable strategies are used, addressing what and how well students learn, based on knowledge categories and achievement levels. Assessments are varied, fair, and accommodate diverse needs. Clear directions for improvement are given. Students are involved in self-assessment and goal setting. Samples of student work provide evidence of achievement. Grades are determined by continuous evaluations (70%) and a final evaluation (30%).
