What can a Private High School do for your education?

There are so many confusing factors to consider nowadays in Toronto, Canada, when you need to send your children to school. It can be overwhelming to have to make all of these decisions. What are Private High Schools?

Private, or independent, schools are privately owned and funded. They receive no assistance from the local, state, or federal governments. They also offer a curriculum that is suited entirely to the school’s focus. They spend more time working in intensive STEM classes, theater and arts, as well as advanced placements and extracurriculars. They have the budget and time to spend teaching these subjects, unlike the public schools who are underfunded and are required to focus on core classes to increase test scores.

Private schools spend a lot of time preparing their students for college. They don’t have to teach a government mandated curriculum, so they can pick and choose what topics to discuss that will best serve the students as adults. With the small class sizes, they are also able to move through material quicker. In almost all test scores across different age groups and grades, private school students always scored higher.

Private High Schools often also have online or virtual classes that give students the flexibility and comfort of completing credits in their own time. This is especially relevant for adult students who are looking at completing their high school diplomas or are looking at returning to school to complete their education.
